For Education Leaders
For the people who hold homeschool groups together
Real resources for co-op directors, group leaders, and everyone who makes community homeschooling actually work.
An introduction
This is the page I wish had existed
I spent six years directing a homeschool co-op of about 150 students and 50 families. Part teacher, part event planner, part mediator, part accountant — usually all in the same Tuesday afternoon.
What I could never find was a straight answer from someone who had actually done the job. There is no shortage of advice about homeschooling. There is almost nothing about running the thing that holds homeschoolers together — the schedules, the handbooks, the volunteer who quits in October, the family nobody wants to have the hard conversation with.
So that is what this corner of the Indie Education Network is for. It is early, and I would rather hand you something useful now than a finished library next year. Start with whatever is breaking this week.

The first three are for learning the job. The next three are for building it. The last two are for when you want a hand with it.

Conversations with co-op directors, microschool founders, and curriculum makers — including plenty of episodes aimed squarely at the people running things.
Listen now →Guides for Group Leaders
Finding and keeping a building, insurance, holding on to families and teachers, choosing curriculum for a group — written from actually running one.
Read the guides →Build the thing
The Resource Directory
Curriculum publishers, co-ops, microschools, class providers, and services — the independent education landscape in one searchable place.
Search the directory →Curriculum for Co-op Classrooms
Open-and-go curriculum written for multi-age rooms and volunteer teachers, from Indie Education Press.
Shop curriculum →Connect With Other Leaders
You are not the only person doing this. Trade notes with other directors and group leaders in the community.

Group Consulting
Stuck on something specific — structure, growth, money, a decision you keep going back and forth on? Bring it to someone who has run a group this size.
See how it works →Custom Indie Curriculum
Curriculum built for your group’s classes, your schedule, and your volunteer teachers — rather than adapted from something written for one family at home.

This is just the start
The Indie Education Network is young, and the homeschool group leader side of it is where I am starting — it is the part I know best.
If you are building or running a group right now, you are exactly who this is being built for, and the questions you send me shape what gets made next.
Coming next
- A leader resource hub — templates, planning checklists, and policy language you can copy
- Deeper guides on the things that are hard to search for: conflict, burnout, growth, money
