Welcome to Indie Education Network. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of IndieEducationNetwork.com and the content, resources, directories, events, and other services provided through the website (collectively, the “Site”).
Indie Education Network (“Indie Education Network,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides resources designed to connect, inform, and support families, educators, education entrepreneurs, homeschool leaders, microschool founders, curriculum creators, and others involved in independent education.
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Site.
1. Educational and Informational Purposes
Content provided through Indie Education Network is intended for educational and informational purposes.
We strive to provide useful and accurate information, but educational needs, laws, regulations, funding programs, school requirements, and other circumstances vary by family, organization, and location and may change over time.
Nothing on the Site should be considered legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice. Users are responsible for determining whether information, products, programs, or services are appropriate for their individual circumstances.
2. Independent Education Providers and Directory Listings
Indie Education Network may provide directories, listings, profiles, articles, links, or other information about independent educators, homeschool programs, microschools, co-ops, tutors, curriculum providers, businesses, organizations, and other third parties.
Directory information may be submitted directly by the listed provider or gathered from publicly available sources. A listing may therefore appear on Indie Education Network even if the provider has not created, claimed, or approved the listing.
We make reasonable efforts to provide useful and accurate information, but we do not guarantee that directory information is complete, current, or error-free. Providers may contact us at info@indieeducationnetwork.com to request that information be corrected, updated, or removed.
Unless we specifically state otherwise, inclusion in the Indie Education Network directory does not constitute endorsement, certification, accreditation, approval, or recommendation by Indie Education Network. Likewise, the presence of a listing does not indicate that the listed provider endorses or is affiliated with Indie Education Network.
Users are responsible for evaluating providers, programs, curriculum, services, and organizations before making educational, financial, or other decisions. Indie Education Network is not responsible for the actions, representations, services, products, policies, or practices of independently operated providers listed on the Site.
3. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the original content appearing on the Site—including articles, written resources, graphics, branding, downloadable materials, audio, video, and other content—is owned by or licensed to Indie Education Network and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may access Site content for your own personal or internal educational use.
Unless you have received written permission, you may not reproduce, republish, sell, distribute, modify, create derivative commercial works from, or otherwise commercially exploit our content.
You may share links to publicly available pages on the Site.
Content belonging to guest contributors, partners, sponsors, curriculum creators, or other third parties remains subject to the ownership and licensing terms associated with that content.
4. Curriculum and Products
Products available through Indie Education Network or affiliated brands, including Indie Education Press, may be subject to separate purchase terms and license agreements.
Purchasing or downloading a product does not transfer ownership of the intellectual property contained in that product.
The license accompanying a particular product controls how that product may be copied, shared, printed, distributed, or used with students.
If a product-specific license conflicts with these general Terms of Use, the product-specific license will control with respect to that product.
5. User Submissions
From time to time, users may submit directory information, comments, articles, event information, reviews, applications, forms, photographs, resources, or other materials to Indie Education Network.
You retain ownership of materials you create unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
By voluntarily submitting material for publication on the Site, you grant Indie Education Network a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to reproduce, display, format, edit for clarity or presentation, distribute, and promote that material in connection with Indie Education Network and its services.
You represent that you have the right to submit the material and that our permitted use of it will not violate another person’s intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
We reserve the right to decline, edit, remove, or discontinue publication of submitted material at our discretion.
Separate agreements may apply to contributors, speakers, sponsors, curriculum creators, partners, and other collaborators.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Site to:
- violate applicable laws or regulations;
- infringe another person’s intellectual property or other legal rights;
- submit knowingly false, misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent information;
- distribute malicious software or interfere with the operation or security of the Site;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, accounts, systems, or data;
- scrape, harvest, or systematically collect information from the Site for unauthorized commercial purposes; or
- impersonate another individual, organization, or business.
We may restrict or terminate access to the Site when we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.
7. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, products, programs, social media platforms, payment processors, educational services, and other resources.
These third parties operate independently from Indie Education Network. We do not control their content, availability, security, privacy practices, policies, or services.
Your use of a third-party website or service is governed by that provider’s own terms and policies.
8. Affiliate Links, Sponsorships, and Paid Content
Indie Education Network may receive compensation through sponsorships, advertising, affiliate relationships, paid collaborations, featured listings, or other partnerships.
When required, we will identify sponsored or affiliate content in accordance with applicable disclosure requirements.
Compensation does not guarantee a positive review or recommendation.
9. Events, Conferences, and Programs
Indie Education Network may host, promote, or collaborate on virtual or in-person conferences, summits, workshops, webinars, courses, and other events.
Additional registration terms may apply to individual events.
Schedules, speakers, topics, platforms, and other event details may change when circumstances require. Any refund or cancellation terms provided for a particular event will govern that event.
Views expressed by speakers or participants are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Indie Education Network.
10. No Guarantee of Results
We may share educational strategies, business ideas, resources, opportunities, experiences, or examples through the Site.
We do not guarantee specific educational, academic, business, financial, professional, or personal outcomes from using the Site, participating in an event, purchasing a product, joining a program, or working with a provider found through Indie Education Network.
11. Availability and Accuracy
We work to maintain useful and accurate information but cannot guarantee that every page, directory listing, link, price, event detail, resource, or other piece of information will always be complete, accurate, or current.
We may update, modify, remove, or discontinue Site content or features at any time.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Indie Education Network and its owners, employees, contractors, contributors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or from decisions made based upon information obtained through the Site.
You use the Site and its resources at your own discretion and risk.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
13. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Indie Education Network and its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or materials you submit that violate another person’s rights.

Your use of the Site is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.

We may update these Terms periodically as Indie Education Network grows or our services change.
When changes are made, the updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Site after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
